The oldest form of a carpet that has been found dated back to 500-400 BC which was found in Siberia which makes it obvious that it was used to separate the cold floor from the human feet. The older carpets were created by hand stitching the animal fur fibers into each other to create the different shaped carpets. The change of materials which was used occurred in 1935. The material which was used in 1935 was a synthetic nylon which allowed the reduction of price which cost to create and purchase a carpet allowing for a wider audience. The carpets were also created using industrial machines. Handmade carpets are still created and people can still purchase them, however, they are usually more expensive than the mass produced carpets. Carpets come in different sizes, shapes and colours which allows for more diversity when purchasing carpet.
